ARA VORA SENT PACKIN'! Well, it wasn't close. We were swamped in Round 3. But, over 60 fine Ara Vora fans showed up to the Paradise last Friday. It was tons o' fun! Thanks to you, and to everyone who came out to see us this past winter and spring!
Now we rest, while drummer Chad travels to India in search of the perfect roti .
Look for a few goofy summer projects from the rest of Ara Vora and a triumphant return to full speed in September, including shows in Boston and New York. We will be recording a new cd in the fall, too, one so full of rockin' goodness we can't even believe it ourselves.
Lyrics for tunes from this future cd are now posted in our myspace 'blog' here , including Whisky Grin, Rockstar, No Hook, No Exit, Runway, 1989 and Dr. Song. Look for live mp3s of Runway and Dr. Song to go up on myspace soon, and live tracks for the others can be found on our mp3 page here.

PA'S WAS SMOKIN'! (mouse over text for links)
Some ideas work and some don't. For those of you still coughing, don't worry. It's only toxic to lab rats.
Still, the rock and the beer were tasty. Thanks to everyone for coming.
Thanks to Gerry and Tony for having us and our buddies again. You guys and PA's are the best!
Swim Team played one of the best sets we've seen, and they have lots of new tunes which are so good they make us want to shave our body hair and slap a rubber cap on our head. Keep lookin' out for their new Ep, which I'm told is almost ready to pop out of the oven.
With apologies to Dave Berman , sometimes a Pony makes you happy. It was our first chance to see a Pony, and we liked. "Holy crap! What a nice band." Seriously. And damn nice tunes to boot.
Anyway, we have to get to the office now. Hopefully our secretary has picked up the dry cleaning. Remember to buy your advanced Emergenza tix to see Ara Vora downstairs!
WE HAVE YOUR BEST INTERESTS AT HEART. Come to this great show!
We are playing another new song called 'Rockstar'!
SWEET VICTORY IS OURS! That's right-- Ara Vora mustered the troops and withstood the aural blitz of seven other bands last Saturday night, emerging bloody but unbowed from the first round of the Emergenza competition. We'll be back for more, engaged in a titanic rock 'n roll tussle during round 2, on April 13th. Mark your calendars--the first battle is over, but the rumble has just begun.
A big fat thank you to all the loyal troops who showed up and throwed up those hands for the vote, and to the new recruits who heard us for the first time that night.
Cheers!

ARA VORA CELEBRATES SHOOBY'S B-DAY On this day, September 19, in 1929, American legend Shooby "The Human Horn" Taylor was born. Let us all raise our voice in song at www.shooby.com. Sree dah rah. Shrah!
FROM THE MAILBAG:
Hey Ara Vora! My name's Lucy and I'm almost 16 and I totally love your music AND your website. First of all, I love that you chose pink - I wonder if it is your favorite color? Also, I think it's really neat that you put a pony and kids on your site - does Ara Vora own a pony and children?
I wish I could see you at O'Brien's Pub. Keep rockin'
-Lucy
Hi, Lucy. Thanks for your message. To answer your questions: Ara Vora does not own any ponies or children. We all agree pink rules, but I don't think it is any of the band member's favorite color. I do know that Chad really hates Hunter Green, but beyond that, we have never, as a band, shared our color likes and dislikes with each other. Perhaps it is time we had that conversation.
Thanks for writing!
-Colin
A TESTAMENT TO THE POWER OF ROCK From the A/V mailbag:
Um, hello to yous, I'm in the mood of saying how much I am liking your music and sounds. They are making me want to be dancing with my clothes off on the the floor of club,....a club of the rock and the roll. Be keeping it up, the good work. For the world of sound needs sounds like the Ara Voras. Do you know in my country Ara Voras is something like "bright ear tunnel"? It so hard to translate! And I am so young. With much to learn.
-Wina
Well, Wina, thank you.
ARA VORA SPARKLES IN DEFEAT After a sweaty battle before thousands of strangers and under the bright lights of Jillian's, Ara Vora was vanquished, alas. But not demoralized! Sore but smiling, we put up our dukes to adversity, shake defiant fists at loss, confident in the knowledge that those fists and those dukes will look really good in our new matching blue, pink, and yellow wristbands.
ARA VORA TO DO BATTLE! Ara Vora will be participating in a "Battle of the Bands" at Jillian's in Worcester on 7/28/05. Until then, we'll be at our training facility, lifting weights, running laps and using lots of performance enhancing substances. Come on out and support our effort by tossing a foreign object into the ring while the referee's not looking.
